Laia Buira, PIEL Magazine photographer will take part within the programm of this year’s black music cycle Say It Loud, she will show part of her work in music photography through an exhibition entitled ‘Dennis Brown and Garnett Silk: its musical environment, twenty years later.”
This is exhibition is a photo tour linking musicians who shared experiences with Dennis Brown and Garnett Silk, who were involved in the Jamaican music scene in the second half of the twentieth century.
A journey in images, shown in the Jamaican part of this cycle, about the ones who accompanied those artists, and who are still alive and on stage.
At the same time, the public will see a collection of snapshots of their native island, taken by the photographer in early 2013. This helps to enter a bit more into Jamaica and its culture.
Laia Buira is an active, restless and eclectic photographer. The art of capturing images is her vocation. In early 2010 she began to collaborate with reggae.es, where she published her photographs of many concerts in Barcelona and festivals. She has collaborated with Rockdelux, Mondosonoro, Dothereggae and Reggaeville, as well as with musical producers and artists in the national and international Reggae scene.
